The Jarawas of India

The Jarawas of India, numbering approximately 375 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small Indigenous hunter‑gatherer people of India’s Andaman Islands who have preserved much of their traditional forest‑based way of life, while only recently beginning limited contact with the outside world. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Jarawa and their primary religion is Animism.
