The Regar and Jatav Chamar of India, numbering approximately 2,875,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are sub-groups within the larger Chamar community of India. Though traditionally associated with leather work and tanning, Regar and Jatav Chamars are now part of the broader agricultural and urban labor force. They are an Indigenous people, in the Chamar people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Dhundari.
