They are an ethnolinguistic subgroup of the Tuareg Berber, indigenous to southwestern Niger and southeastern Mali. They are an Diaspora people, in the Tuareg people cluster of the Arab Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Folk. They primarily speak Tamajaq, Tawallammat.
