The Bagga of India

The Bagga of India, numbering approximately 550 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Kannada-speaking community of agricultural laborers in the Chikmagalur and Shimoga districts of Karnataka. Their name derives from Baggalli, a village in Shimoga district from which they recall migrating. They are an Indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Kannada and their primary religion is Hinduism.
