The Chanal of India

The Chanal of India, numbering approximately 48,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community scattered throughout Himachal Pradesh, closely identified with the Hali and working mainly as agricultural and other laborers. They speak Himachali, worship Shiv as their principal deity. They are an Indigenous people in the Punjabi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Hindi and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
