The Salvi of India

The Salvi of India, numbering approximately 94,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a weaving community of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, their name recalling the loom, renowned for patola silk-weaving brought from Maharashtra a thousand years ago. Weaving remains practiced, alongside business and labor. They are an Indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Mewari and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
