They are described as an Indigenous tribal community (Adivasi) of central‑eastern India, recognized for their long history of forest‑based living, shifting cultivation, and hunting–gathering traditions They are an Indigenous people, with Korwa as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Munda-Santal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Sadri.
