The Hmar of India

The Hmar of India, numbering approximately 114,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a tribal community of Assam, Manipur, and Mizoram speaking a Kuki-Chin Tibeto-Burman language. Predominantly Christian, they traditionally practice shifting cultivation. They are an Indigenous people in the Kuki-Chin (Zo) people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Hmar and their primary religion is Protestantism.
