The Holar of India

The Holar of India, numbering approximately 155,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community of Sholapur district in Maharashtra, a subdivision of the Mahar also known as Holaya. Traditionally cobblers, some are now in animal husbandry and agricultural labor. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
