The Korama of India

The Korama of India, numbering approximately 171,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Caste community of Bengaluru, Tumakuru, and Kolar districts in Karnataka claiming descent from the Kuru dynasty. Traditionally fortune-tellers and bamboo workers, today wage labor is their main occupation They are an Indigenous people, with Korama as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. They mostly adhere to Folk Hinduism and Kannada is their primary language.
