The Karnam of India

The Karnam of India, numbering approximately 90,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Tamil-speaking community of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh whose name derives from the Tamil word for accountant, their traditional role as village accountants for local kings. Most are now in government and private service. They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamil and their primary religion is Hinduism.
