The Buna of India, numbering approximately 897,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as an Odia-speaking Hindu weaving community of Odisha, concentrated in Puri and Cuttack districts, traditionally making cotton saris and dhotis. They are organized into two clans, Naga and Hasri, which regulate marriage alliances They are an Indigenous people, with Buna (India) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Bengali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Odia.
