The Banajiga of India, numbering approximately 1,375,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Kannada-speaking Roman Catholic community concentrated in the Bengaluru district of Karnataka, working mainly as agricultural and industrial laborers. They retain pre-conversion customs such as thali-tying at marriage and ancestral death rituals They are an Indigenous people, with Banajiga as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism. They primarily speak Kannada.
