The Bhar of India

The Bhar of India, numbering approximately 2,290,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Hindu community of eastern Uttar Pradesh, also known as Rajbhar, who trace their name to Shaivite devotion and claim descent from ancient rulers. They are today mainly Bhojpuri-speaking cultivators and laborers They are an Indigenous people, with Bhar as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Hindi.
