They are a scheduled caste of India and can also be known as Harijan, Adadhivallu, Zaia, Jhala, Parayan, Mala Masti, Arava Mala, Adi-Andhra, Malo. They are an Indigenous people, in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Telugu.
