They are a small indigenous group native to Siompu Island, located southwest of Buton Island in Southeast Sulawesi. They are an Indigenous people, in the Bungku-Bajau people cluster of the Malay Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Kaimbulawa.
