They are a Hmong-Mien ethnolinguistic group indigenous to southwest China and adjacent border areas of Laos and Thailand. They are an Diaspora people, in the Miao / Hmong people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Roman Catholicism. They primarily speak Hmong Njua.
