They are a central Sudanic ethnolinguistic people group indigenous to the Djugu territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo's Ituri province . They are an Indigenous people, in the Sudanic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Lendu.
