They are one of two dialect subgroups of Taznatit, a language of Algeria and can also be known as Gourara Berber. They are an Indigenous people, in the Amazigh-Saharan people cluster of the Arab World affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Taznatit.
