They are an indigenous Papuan people living in the Sandaun (West Sepik) Province of Papua New Guinea, particularly along the Sepik River near the Indonesian border. They are an Indigenous people, in the New Guinea people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Abau.
