The Angku of China

The Angku of China, numbering approximately 9,200 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small, distinct indigenous people of southwest China and neighboring parts of mainland Southeast Asia. They are not Yi and not Han; instead, they belong to the Austroasiatic (Mon‑Khmer) world, one of the oldest cultural layers in the Upper Mekong region. They are an Indigenous people, in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Buddhism - Theravada. They primarily speak Kon Keu.
