They are an ethnolinguistic community of Nepal and can also be known as and Kathoriaya Tharu, Deokri, Rana, Dang Tharu. They are an Indigenous people, in the Nepali-Pahari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Tharu, Dangaura.
