The Eastern Tharu of Nepal, numbering approximately 135,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an ethnolinguistic community of Nepal, Narayani zone: Chitawan District; Lumbini zone, Nawalparasi District and can also be known as Saptari Tharu, Chitwan Tharu, Mahotari Tharu. They are an Indigenous people, in the Nepali-Pahari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism - Folk. They primarily speak Bhojpuri.
