They are an indigenous community of Canada, descendants of the French who settled in the colony of Acadia during the 17th and 18th centuries and can also be known as Acadiens. They are an Indigenous people, in the French people cluster of the Eurasian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Roman Catholicism. They primarily speak French.
