They are described as a Baaka (Baka/Mbaka) forest‑linked ethnic group Indigenous to western South Sudan, near the borders with the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
They are an Indigenous people in the Sudanic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc.
Baka (South Sudan) is their primary language and Protestantism is their primary religion.
