The Badhik of India

The Badhik of India, numbering approximately 19,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Caste community of western Uttar Pradesh, concentrated around Muzaffarnagar, whose name may derive from badh, meaning to kill. Traditionally hunters and trappers, they now work mainly as butchers and are also known as Hindu Kasai.
They are an Indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Hindi is their primary language and Folk Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Badhik are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Badhik are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
