The Karimpalan of India

The Karimpalan of India, numbering approximately 22,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Caste community of Kannur, Wayanad, and Kozhikode districts in Kerala whose name derives from kari, meaning charcoal, their traditional trade. Many now practice settled cultivation and basket-making.
They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Malayalam is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Karimpalan are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Karimpalan are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
