The Halwakki Wakkal of India, numbering approximately 343,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a caste community of Uttar Kannad district in Karnataka, whose name combines the Kannada words for milk and rice reflecting their agricultural origins. The Halwakki Wakkal were traditionally rice cultivators and animal herders.
They are an Indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Kannada is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
