The Michi of China

The Michi of China, numbering approximately 49,000 people, are No Longer Unreached.
They are described as a distinct subgroup within the broader Yi nationality in China, primarily residing in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces and can also be known as Miqi, Sinicized Yi, Hong Yi.
They are an Indigenous people, with Michi as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Other Tibeto-Burmese people cluster of the Tibetan / Himalayan Peoples.
Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism.
They primarily speak Chinese, Mandarin.

The Michi are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.
