They are described as an Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast whose traditional homelands stretch along the west coast of Vancouver Island in what is now British Columbia. They are also known as Nuu‑chah‑nulth.
They are an Indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples affinity bloc.
English is their primary language and Protestantism is their primary religion.
