The Musahar of India

The Musahar of India, numbering approximately 3,250,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a historically marginalized community in India, found mainly in the Gangetic plains of eastern and northern India, especially Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and parts of Nepal near the Indian border.
They are an Indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Magahi is their primary language and Folk Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Musahar are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Musahar are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Musahar are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
