The Popti of Mexico

The Popti of Mexico, numbering approximately 700 people, are No Longer Unreached.
They are described as a Mayan ethnic group indigenous to the border area between Chiapas is southern Mexico and Huehuetenango in northwestern Guatemala and can also be known as Western Jakalteko, Jakalteko Occidental, Jakalteko Occidental; Western Jakalteko; Jacaltec; Jacalteco, Jacalteco, Western, Jacaltec.
They are an Indigenous people, with Jacalteco / Popti as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Maya people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans.
Their primary religion is Christianity - Folk Catholicism.
They primarily speak Spanish.
