The Hmar of India

The Hmar of India, numbering approximately 114,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a tribal community of Assam, Manipur, and Mizoram speaking a Kuki-Chin Tibeto-Burman language. Predominantly Christian, they traditionally practice shifting cultivation They are an Indigenous people, with Hmar as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kuki-Chin (Zo) people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism. They primarily speak Hmar.
